Class Etiquette

We start classes on time. Please allow 10-15 minutes for set-up before class start time.

Please turn off all cell phones.

Come prepared for a sewing class - bring scissors, thread, fully equipped machine with power cords, foot control, knee lever, spare needles, empty bobbins, and any supplies required for the class.

Contained drinks and snacks are welcome.

All classes are designed for adults (age 18 and older) unless indicated.

We take our classes seriously! Much time and energy go into planning and teaching a class. Our instructors cost money and do not work for free. We are very sorry if you are unable to attend a class after signing up.

Miscellaneous

Deposits - All fee-based classes require a mandatory, nonrefundable deposit of 50%. Balance must be paid before class starts. Exception - Beginning Sewing Classes require full payment upon registration
Refunds - Class deposits are not refundable or transferable. Refunds will be granted only in the following cases (also see Guest Instructor clause):
* Cancellation received 7 days before class.
* If it becomes necessary to cancel a class, all deposits will be fully refunded.
* Store credit or class transfer will be issued in the case of illness or unforeseen event. Student must make notification no later than the end of the business day on the class date. Failure to do so will cause forfeiture of deposit.
* Store credit of class transfer will be valid only for the current calendar year.
Cancellations - BCS reserves the right to cancel a class because of lack of enrollment. A full refund will be given.
Loaner Machines & Computers - At BCS, we welcome all sewers, and most of our classes are sit & sews. Your machine brand is NOT an issue with us, but if you wish to borrow a Bernina sewing machine or laptop, please reserve one at the time of class sign-up because quantities are limited.
Guest Instructors - An outside instructor who is not regularly employed at BCS. Mandatory, nonrefundable deposits are required. No refunds, credits, or transfers will be granted, under any condition.

Registration

There are four ways to register for class:

Call 614.436.2611 - always the best and most effective. Charge your class right over the phone.
In person, at the store.
Send an e-mail to bcs@bethscreative.com. Please provide us with your name, address, daytime phone number, class title, date, and Visa-MasterCard-Discover information. Note, however, that e-mail is not secure.
U.S. Postal Service - Your personal check must include your current address AND phone number. Make sure to add a short note about which class and date you are registering for. A "post-it" style note works well.
